Tennis star Venus Williams came from a set down to beat Caroline Garcia today and became the oldest finalist in the WTA’s season ending competition since Martina Navratilova achieved the feat back in 1992.
The 37-year-old American, seeded fifth for the WTA finals in Singapore, fought her way to a 6-7 6-2, 6-3 victory in two hours and 29 minutes.
Williams who won this competition in 2008 and was a beaten finalist a year later against Sister Serena, will now face Caroline Wozniacki in tomorrow’s final.
The in-form Wozniacki booked her place in the decider by battling past Karolina Pliskova 7-6 , 6-3.
