Veteran filmmaker Franklyn ‘Chappie’ St Juste dies

Veteran filmmaker Franklyn ‘Chappie’ St Juste has died.

St Juste, who had been ailing, passed away shortly before midday today.

Minister of Culture, and Entertainment Olivia Grange, has expressed condolences on the passing of Franklyn St Juste, more popularly called ‘Chappie’. Minister Grange said “Chappie was a master of stage and lighting, an excellent film maker and television producer, and an outstanding teacher.

Franklyn St Juste played a major role in the development of lighting, film and television professionals, not only in Jamaica, but across the Caribbean.

According to Minister Grange, at the time of his passing, Chappie had been leading a process to repatriate Jamaican films which have been found in databases overseas.
