PopCaan has used Twitter to show gratitude to incarcerated Dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel who gave him his musical breakthrough over 11-years ago.

“Vybz Kartel ya real G, a nuff tings man learn from you without you even saying a word. Yo respect a forever respect!!!” he wrote on Twitter Monday (August 26).

PopCaan who joined the Vybz Kartel-led Portmore Empire in 2008, got his musical breakthrough in 2010 following the release of the Dancehall hit ‘Clarks’, a collaboration with Kartel, PopCaan, and Vannessa Bling.

Poppi’s Twitter post has also silenced some ongoing online chatter that the relationship between him and Vybz Kartel is rocky.

Just last week, PopCaan was forced to rubbish online talks that he had a falling out with Canadian rapper Drake.

PopCaan was quick to assure online users that his friendship is intact with the OVO boss.
