After over a year of delays in the appeal of the murder convictions by incarcerated dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel, and his co-convicts, a delivery date on the ruling of the appeal, is finally at an advanced stage.

In a letter dated December 2, 2019, addressed to Mr. Tom Tavares Finson QC, one of the attorney’s representing the deejay, the court registrar wrote that she has been directed to advise that the judgment relating to the matter before the Court of Appeal, is at an advanced stage of preparation.

Over a year ago, in July 2018, attorneys representing Vybz Kartel, Shawn Storm, and their co-convicts, appeared before the Court of Appeal, seeking to overturn their convictions and sentences.

The dancehall deejays and two other men were found guilty of the 2011 murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, and are all currently serving life sentences since 2014.
