West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell undergoes successful knee surgery

West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell who was forced out of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup due to injury successfully underwent knee surgery today.

Prior to this, Russell had expressed that the surgery was necessary to rectify what has been a long-standing cloud over his prolific career as a T/20 cricketer.

Russell, who played four games for the West Indies during the ongoing ICC world cup campaign was replaced by batsman Sunil Ambris

Today, he posted a picture from his hospital room on instagram, under which he stated that the surgery was a success.

Russell meanwhile is set to return to Jamaica in the coming days to recover.
