West Indies beats Papua New Guinea in ICC Under 19 warm up

Reigning ICC under 19 champions West Indies wrapped up a seven wicket victory over Papua New Guinea in their first warm up match as they fine-tuned preparations ahead of the start of the World Cup in Christchurch New Zealand today.

The young Windies first restricted Papua New Guinea to 105 all out in the 42nd over as Jamaica’s Jevor royal bagged 2 for 4 runs while there were also two wickets each for Ashmead Nedd and Alick Athanaze.

Igo mahuru Top-scored with 22.

At their turn to bat the young windies rushed to their victory target at 106 for 3 in the 23rd over.

Bhaskar Yadram top-scored with an unbeaten 37 while Keegan Simmonds made 23 and Captain Emmanuel Stewart 21.
