West Indies captain Jason Holder blasted his teams critics today after they completed their final training session at the Rajiv Ghandi stadium in Hyderabad, ahead of the second and final test against India which gets underway tomorrow.
Holder pointed out that even a far superior team of the 90’s which included the legendary Brian Lara could not win a test series in India.
The West Indies last drew an away test series against India way back in 1994, when Lara scored 91 at Mohali – his only test series in India.
The ‘Windies playing without Holder folded for a massive innings and 272 run beaten in the first test in Rajkot.
Former west indies captain Carl Hooper has been among the recent critics.
He was critical of youngsters in the region saying they were only interested in T/20 contracts.
Holder also expressed disagreement with the theory that west indies can go the Bangladesh way by concentrating on one format, maybe one day internationals or T/20.
Looking ahead to the match Holder told reporters that his players must show more consistency in performance.
