West Indies crash to 224 runs loss to India in the fourth One Day International

Another typical batting collapse including two disastrous run outs saw the West Indies crash to a 224 runs loss to India in the fourth one day international in Mumbai this morning.

A result that saw India taking an unassailable 2-1 lead in the five match series. Following a tie in the second game last week.

Chasing a challenging 378 runs to win the Caribbean men who were reeling on 70 for 6, recovered slightly before crashing to 153 all out .

Captain Jason holder steadied the innings with an unbeaten half century 54, but that was the only reasonable spark, as Marlon SamuEls made only 18, opener Chanderpaul Hemraj was dismissed for 14, and Shimron Hetmyer fell for 13.

Shai hope was run out for nought and Kieron Powell run out for 4.

Bowling for India Khaleel Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets a peice.

West Indies captain Jason holder explained what led to another woeful display by his team.

Earlier masterful performances from man of the match Rohit Sharma and Mabati Rayudu’s laid the perfect platform for the Indians who scored a mammoth 377 for 5 after winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Sharma smashed a massive 162 runs from 137 balls, inclusive of 20 fours and 4 sixes.

Sharma also shared in a third wicket stand worth 211 runs with Raydu who scored an even hundred off 81 balls.

Shakar Darwan who made 38 was the only other useful scorer in double figures. Wicket keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni fell for 23 and captain Virat Kholi who crashed for 16.

Kuldeep Jadhav 16 and Ravindra Jadeja who scored 7 runs were the not out batsmen.

Kemar roach finished with 2 for 74 , with a wicket each for Kemo Paul and Ashley Nurse.
