West Indies tour of Pakistan still uncertain

by October 18th, 2017

The difficulty of Pakistan touring the West Indies next year is the current  road block in the ongoing discussions between cricket west indies and Pakistan Cricket board, regarding the windies proposed tour of Asian country next month.

The two teams are scheduled to face off in a T/20 series in Lahore at the end of next month, which could mark the first time a major cricketing nation has toured the country since a 2009 attack on the Sri Lanka cricket team by armed militants.

The deal is, however, believed to not quite done with several issues yet to be ironed out with a little over a month to go.

According to recent reports one major sticking point in negotiations so far revolves around the issue of reciprocity.  As part of the deal the cricket West Indies (CWI) has requested that Pakistan tour the West Indies next year.  A packed schedule, however, could see the team not available to do so until 2019, a date which CWI considers to be too late.

Despite the issues in negotiations the official was confident that the Caribbean team would take part in the tour.
