West Indies Whitewashed

The dismal form of the West Indies Cricket team continued on Monday as the Caribbean men suffered yet another humiliating whitewash this time at the hands of Bangladesh.

The West Indies crashed to a big 120 run defeat to the host in the third and final ODI in Chatrogram to go down 3-nil in the series.

Set a victory target of 298 the Windies folded for 177 in the 45th over.

Jamaica’s Rovman Powell for the second straight game top scored for the Windies with 47.

Nkrumah Bonner 31, Raymon Reifer 17 Captain Jason Mommamed 17, Sunil Ambris 13 and Kyle Mayers and Alzari Joseph 11 each also got into double figures.

Mohammad Saifuddin led the Bangladesh bowling with 3 for 51, while Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up two wickets each.

Earlier the hosts batting first racked up 297 for 6 in their 50 overs.

Captain Tamin Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mammadullah all slammed 64 each while Shakib Al Hasan weighed in with 51.

Alzari Joseph 2 for 48 and Raymon Reifer 2 for 61 were the pick of the Windies bowling.

Both teams now turn their attention to the two match test series.
