West Indies wicket-keeper batter Nicholas Pooran has been fined 15 percent of his match fees after being found guilty of breaching level 1 of the ICC code of conduct during the second T20 International against India in Guyana.

According to an ICC press release, Pooran is said to have breached article 2.7 of the ICC code of conduct for players and player support personnel which technically relates to publicly criticizing any incident that happened during an international game.

Following the match, Pooran had reportedly expressed his frustration at having to use a review to overturn what he felt was an obviously incorrect call. 

Level 1 breaches can generally have a maximum punishment of a 50 percent fine of match fees along with one or two demerit points.

There wasn’t a need for a formal hearing as Pooran had admitted to the offense and a demerit point had also been added to his name for this incident.
