World Champions West Indies Womens opened up a two nil lead over South Africa following a whopping nine wicket victory in the second of five T20 Internationals at the Brian Lara Stadium last night.

The Windies women were inspired by a hat trick from Anisha Mohammed as the South Africans batting first were restricted to a paltry 101 for 8 in their 20 overs.

Mohammed victims included Marizanne Kapp, Saarah smith and Masabata Klaas as she bagged impressive figures of 5 for 24.

She got support from Hayley Matthews 2 for 16

At their turn to bat a 72-run partnership between Natasha Mclean and skipper Stefanie Taylor helped ‘Windies overhaul the target with more than four overs to spare.

McLean cracked an unbeaten 43 and Taylor made 13 as she also became the second-highest run-scorer in women’s T20International cricket when she reached 15.

Tomorrow’s third T/20International becomes a must-win clash for the visitors to keep the series alive.
