Windies go down by 36 runs as Bangladesh levels T20I series

The three-match T20 International series between the West Indies and Bangladesh is now tied at 1-1 after the Windies went down by 36 runs in the second and penultimate match of the series in Dhaka.

The home team after being sent to bat piled up a challenging 211 for 4 from their 20 overs.

They were led by opener Liton Das who slammed 60 from 34 balls and captain Shakib Al Hasan who made 42 not out from 26 deliveries.

Sheldon Cottrell – 2 for 38 – was the top West Indies bowler while there was one wicket each for Jamaicans Fabian Allen and Oshane Thomas.

The Windies in reply were bowled out for 175 in 19.2 overs with Rovman Powell hitting an even 50 from 34 balls.

Shai Hope (36) and Keemo Paul (29) were the other top scorers.

Shakib, later named Man of The Match, did most damage for Bangladesh taking 5 for 20 from his 4 overs.

Final scores Bangladesh 211 for 4, West Indies 175 all out.

The third and final match will be played at the same venue on Saturday.
