One woman is now in police custody in relation to the abduction of a Manchester businessman, last month.

A ransom had been demanded for the release of the man.

When the businessman’s wife went to the bank to withdraw a large sum of money to secure the release of her husband, it aroused the suspicion of the institution and the police were called in.

The man’s release was successfully achieved, following the intervention of the lawmen.

Head of the Manchester police Superintendent Wayne Cameron says the woman was picked-up, today (Apl 7).

In the meantime, the man who was arrested in connection with the abduction appeared in court yesterday, and has been remanded into custody.

Superintendent Cameron is cautioning business persons to be vigilant as they conduct their activities.
