by March 6th, 2020

Ziggy Marley is apologizing to music fans in Australia and New Zealand after pulling the plug on a few events slated for next weekend.

According to the son of late reggae legend, Bob Marley, he is unable to attend the WOMAD Festivals, citing “unforeseen family responsibilities” as the cause.

Ziggy Marley, an eight-time Grammy Award winner, said: “My apologies to everyone – WOMAD crew, music fans, music lovers, everyone. My apologies, but we’ll see you next year.”

Ziggy Marley was expected to perform at the WOMAD festival on Friday, March 13 in New Plymouth. Elton John who was slated to perform has also reportedly canceled.

The festival is still set to feature over 40 other performances over three days.

WOMAD is an international arts festival, which aims to celebrate the world’s many forms of music, arts, and dance.
