A Zone of Special Operations, ZOSO has been declared in sections of Westmoreland.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the declaration at a press briefing this morning.

Mr Holness said the ZOSO includes the communities of Russia, Dalling Street and Dexter Street.

Mr Holness stated that the 60-day ZOSO is necessary, as gangs have been wreaking havoc in the communities.

And head of the Jamaica Defence Force Lieutenant General Rocky Meade outlined the boundaries of the ZOSO.
